Jalandhar, January 13, 2024: Women Empowerment Cell of PCM SD celebrated 'Lohri Dhiyan Di’ in all opulence and grandeur in collaboration with Women Help Organisation at village Patara.
The event aimed to blend traditional festivities with a deeper focus on women empowerment. Commencing with the customary lighting of the bonfire, the gathering symbolized unity and shared joy. Engaging discussions unfolded throughout the celebration, shedding light on the pivotal role of women in society. The ulterior motive was to emphasise the need for empowerment, encouraging participants to contribute to a more inclusive environment. Cultural performances from Department of Music took center stage, as students showcased their talents by singing traditional Punjabi folk songs. The performance not only entertained but was also a way to remain in touch with our cultural roots. As a commitment to education, the members of Women Empowerment Cell and the representatives of Women Help Organisation distributed gifts supporting the academic aspirations of underprivileged girls. The celebration served as a resounding success, successfully blending the spirit of festivity with the essence of women empowerment.
President Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Vinod Dada, other members of the managing committee and Principal Prof.(Dr.) Pooja Prashar applauded the endeavours of the Incharges of Women Empowerment Cell, Kawaljit Kaur and Akwinder Kaur for championing the cause of women empowerment within the college community and beyond.
Other members of the Cell, Shikha Puri, Dr Anju and Aabroo Sharma also witnessed the day. Chairman, Parmeshri D and President, Advocate Navjot Kaur Rakhra from Women Help Organisation were present on the occasion.
