A National Training Workshop cum Webinar on Women Empowerment was organized by Amity Law School in collaboration with Mission Shakti, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh and Pradhan Mantri Jan Kalyankari Yojana Prachar Prasar Abhiyan. The theme of the 2nd e-Edition of Virangana Training the workshop was “Women Empowerment: Empowering Women- Empowerment the Nation', a step further to develop Atmanirbhar Bharat”.  

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Anusuiya Uikey, Governor of Chhattisgarh said “the meaningful things said in the program will reach other women and students and they will get a new direction. At present, the Corona crisis is going on, so try to help everybody. In ancient times, the place of women has been important in our country. Today women are playing the role of doctor, nurse, scientist, police etc. on various fronts to defeat the demon named Corona. It is important to have knowledge of the law in the field of women empowerment". Addressing the students Ms. Anusuiya stressed on the need to empower one woman, who will then empower 10 more women and so on.  The situation is changing and the thinking of the society is also changing, but until gender inequality is eliminated from the roots, we have to work for the empowerment of women. She also said that positive thinking is necessary for life.

Ms. Nabeela Wali, Judge , DLSA, South Delhi said that Amity has organized a positive program in difficult times. First of all for women's empowerment, women have to change themselves and move forward in life. Judgment has been awarded from time to time by the Supreme Court and High Court to empower women and there is a judgment available on almost every subject. There are many laws for the empowerment of women but women are not aware of them, women have to be aware of their rights. 

Ms. Jyotsana Sitling, IFS, PPF, Uttarakhand Govt said “Women are well versed in multi-tasking who work at home and at offices. Building social capacity is necessary to develop for every woman. The role of women will have to be made important in every areas of economy, management, and development.

Ms. Vrinda Shukla, IPS, DCP-Women and Child Safety, Gautam Buddh Nagar stressed upon that we have to understand the relationship between women's safety and women's empowerment. Women's safety depends on many external factors like environment, public transport, family etc. Women's empowerment depends on empowering themselves. Ms. Shukla said that the three main elements of women's empowerment are first to keep yourself aware of the right information and information that will keep you and other people safe, second not to tolerate any abuses, exploitation, and discrimination. In many cases, especially in the case of domestic violence, we don’t speak to anybody but it is important to break the silence. The third element is women should make themselves financially strong, then many of their problems will be solved. She advised  students to be self-aware and to make others aware. 

Dr. Aseem Chauhan, Chancellor, Amity University, Haryana said At Amity, we ensure that women and girls get equal growth opportunities in every field and students will be encouraged by women playing a leading role in different fields. 

Prof. (Dr.) Balvinder Shukla , Vice-Chancellor, Amity University, Uttar Pradesh welcomed the dignitaries and said “Our culture and civilization have always shown as important and valuable contribution they make in development of society. Today women are pioneers in every field of the world. We provide value based learning to the students so that when they complete their education and go out, then everyone should follow their value education.
