Workshop on Efficient Operations and Maintenance of Boilers
Ludhiana, February 24, 2019: Chamber of Industrial & Commercial Undertakings jointly organised Workshop with National Productivity Council, Chandigarh in association with Central Boiler Directorate, Government of India and Director of Boilers, Govt of Punjab on “Efficient Operations and Maintenance of Boilers” at CICU Focal Point, Ludhiana. Upkar Singh Ahuja, President- CICU, said that by following safe operations and maintenance practices with New and retrofitting technology options will enhance Boiler efficiency and energy conservation, which will prove to be more efficient in the existing setup of industries. Ahuja also said that the objective of the workshop was to sensitize the industry and create awareness on regulatory framework for boiler, efficient boiler operation, Safety and maintenance. Pankaj Sharma, General Sectary- CICU, said that such programmes are very informative and help them keep up with latest trends and practices in boiler technology and operations. T.R Mishra, Vice President and S.B Singh, Joint Secretary- CICU conveyed that the program contents will be improved in future for the benefit of industries and asked industries to get maximum benefit from these programs. The participants actively interacted with speaker and raised their queries and concerns. They also suggested that more such programmes should be conducted by state or central government bodies regularly in the region to aware and sensitize industries at large. The workshop was attended by around 50 professionals from different industries in and around Ludhiana. The National Productivity Council also shared their experience of improving efficiency in boiler by presenting a case study based on actual field level exercises conducted in the past.
