Workshop on GST: Students Witness Intellectually Enriching Session from Renowned Industry Expert

Jalandhar, April 16, 2019: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage & Autonomous institution, Jalandhar has always been making efforts for the holistic development of its students and exposing them to new opportunities. Keeping with the trend, PG Department of Commerce & Business Administration organized a workshop on Goods & Services Tax. The resource person of the workshop was CA Anirudh Sareen from K Sareen & Company. During the workshop, Mr Sareen explained the key concepts like supply, system of multiple tax rates, Central GST, State GST and Integrated GST, input tax credit, system of reverse charge mechanism with reasons in a very detailed manner to the students. He also emphasised on the importance of GST Identification Number while issuing the tax invoice. He also explained the procedures of filing of GST return practically to the students. The workshop was very interactive and after the session the inquisitive students asked various questions related to the topic from the resource person.
Principal Prof.(Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi lauded the efforts of Dr Neeraj Maini, Head & faculty members of PG Department of Commerce & Business Administration for taking such initiatives. She averred that the workshop was indeed a learning and knowledge enriching experience for the students and faculty members. She maintained that these type of activities give a practical exposure to the students and make the students ready to compete at national level & also give them the confidence to face job challenges.
