Chandigarh, February 6, 2025: A two-day workshop on Biomedical Waste Management and Waste Segregation Protocols concluded at Dr. Harvansh Singh Judge Institute of Dental Sciences and Hospital, here today.
Dr. Jyoti Sharma, Associate Professor and Dr. Manjot Kaur Assistant Professor of the institute delivered the lecture. The two-day workshop was conducted in three slots, ensuring the active participation of the entire institute. Along with the lectures, a practical demonstration was also given. A Poster Making Competition and Quiz Competition were organised for the students and interns.
An initiative of Prof. Deepak Kumar Gupta, Principal of the Institute, the objective of the Workshop was to sensitise the students, interns, nurses, paramedical staff, and other hospital personnel about the significance of effective waste segregation and disposal practices in healthcare.
Dr. Gupta informed that such workshop will be conducted every six months highlighting and ensuring the importance of sustainable biomedical waste management practices, encouraging adherence to protocols to maintain a safer and cleaner environment within healthcare institutions.
