Chandigarh, February 7, 2025: The Mechanical Engineering Department, UIET, Panjab University, Chandigarh, successfully organised a Workshop on "CNC Programming and Machining". The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty, staff and students of UIET, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
The session was led by Dr. Amit Thakur, who provided practical knowledge and hands-on experience in CNC programming and machining. Delegates also performed hand-on training on the 5-axis CNC Machine sponsored by FIST with funding of near 1 Crore.
Earlier, the workshop started with Welcome Address by Prof. Shankar Sehgal, Workshop Coordinator, who emphasized the importance of CNC machining in modern manufacturing. He highlighted how proficiency in CNC machining can enhance research capabilities for faculty and staff while also improving placement prospects for students by equipping them with industry-relevant skills.
Prominent faculty members, including Prof. Manu Sharma, Prof. Rajesh Kumar, Dr. Prashant Jinal, Dr. Parveen Goyal, Dr. J. S. Mehta, and Dr. Tukesh Soni, actively engaged in the workshop, further enhancing their expertise in CNC machining.
