Workshop on “Copyrights and Related Rights”
Chandigarh, February 25, 2022: A one-day workshop on "Copyrights and Related Rights" was organized by Department of Computer Science and Applications, Panjab University, Chandigarh on Friday. The Chairperson, Dr. Rohini Sharma delivered the welcome address. After the brief introduction about the importance of Copyright by Prof. R.K Singla, the event started with the invited talk of Prof. Rupinder Tewari, IPR Chair, DPI, IIT Chandigarh. It was a well illustrated practical delivery about the scope and viability of Intellectual Property ranging from daily usable to our traditional customs. The second expert Dr. Neeraj Singh, Deputy Librarian, A.C. Joshi Library, Panjab University, Chandigarh deliberated on different kinds of Common Creative License boundaries and their importance in the field of Academia. The talk was demonstrated by the significant advances in the field of exclusive rights. In the third session, Professor Rupak Chakravarty, DLIS, Panjab University, Chandigarh shared about Open Access Research through Open Educational Resources. The common creative license attributes were well discussed for their aim and boundaries. All the three sessions were deeply exemplified with the latest practices adopted by the Goggle, YouTube and flip cart.
The Faculty Members, Research Scholars, Staff Members and students made this event an open discussion platform by asking queries about how to get intellectual rights on algorithms to final software. In the valedictory session Mrs Anjali Jindia and Dr. Rohini Sharma, Chairperson, DCSA, Panjab University, Chandigarh expressed their heartfelt thanks to all the present dignitaries and participants.
