Chandigarh, October 16, 2024: The PU-ISSER today organized a highly engaging and interactive Workshop on Creative Writing, by Prof. Archana R Singh from the Department of Communication Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh. The event, attracted students, scholars, and faculty from various departments of Panjab University. 

Prof. Anil Monga, Coordinator of PU-ISSER, warmly welcomed Prof. Archana and expressed gratitude for her presence and the invaluable expertise. In his address, Prof. Monga emphasised the significance of creative writing in academic and professional settings and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the expert for providing an opportunity to students to hone creative skills through practical, hands-on exercises, emphasising the significance of creative writing in academic and professional settings. 

Prof. Archana, a seasoned academician and expert in creative writing, began by discussing the essence of creative writing, stating that it is far more than just a mastery of words or vocabulary. She explained that true creative writing involves the fusion of imagination, innovation, and storytelling to invoke powerful emotions in readers. During the workshop, Prof. Archana provided a step-by-step guide on how to unlock creativity and develop compelling narratives. 

The session offered attendees practical insights into the writing process, focusing on techniques to foster creative thought, write with clarity and emotion, and build engaging stories. Participants were introduced to various creative writing exercises that involved critical thinking, narrative construction, and exploring different styles and genres. 

The workshop was designed to be highly interactive, with students actively engaging in writing exercises and discussions. Attendees were encouraged to share their work, receive feedback, and collaborate with peers to refine their writing techniques.
