Chandigarh, January 31, 2025: A one-day workshop on Emerging Research Methodologies – The Qualitative Aspect was successfully organized jointly by the Centre of Social Work, the Centre for Academic Leadership and Educational Management (CALEM), and the Department of Ancient Indian History, Culture & Archaeology. The workshop aimed at enhancing research skills among scholars and faculty members, focusing on qualitative research methodologies. The event began with an inaugural session graced by Prof. Yojna Rawat, Director, Research and Development Cell, as the Chief Guest, followed by an introduction to the theme by Prof. Satvinderpal Kaur, Coordinator, CALEM. 
 
The workshop featured insightful sessions by Dr. Kulwinder Singh, who spoke on the Importance of Observation, Interview Schedule, and Ethnography, emphasizing how these techniques help researchers gather in-depth, contextual data. Prof. Kuldeep Kaur elaborated on Triangulation and Phenomenology, highlighting the significance of using multiple methods to validate research findings and exploring lived experiences to understand human behavior. Prof. Raj Gupta discussed the Case Study Method, illustrating how this approach provides a detailed analysis of specific cases, enabling researchers to derive meaningful insights.
 
The workshop concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Prof. Paru Bal Sidhu, who acknowledged the contributions of the speakers, participants, and the organizing team. The event provided a valuable platform for researchers to refine their qualitative research skills, enhance methodological rigor, and engage in meaningful academic discussions.
