Workshop on equipping teachers for digital classroom

Ludhiana: On 29th February, a workshop on ‘Equipping Teachers for Digital Classroom’ was organised at Bajaj College, Chaukimann by GHG Harparkash College of Education for Women, Sidhwan Khurd, Ludhiana. Mr. Amnadeep Singh, Head of Department of Curriculum and Pedagogy, Division of Academic Affairs, Lovely Professional University was the mentor of this workshop. The ceremony began with a floral and formal welcome by the Principal of the college, Dr. Shikha Dhall, of the resource-person and Dr. Amandeep Kaur, Principal of GHG Harparkash College.
Mr. Amandeep began the workshop by discussing the importance of humanistic touch in teaching as compared to the robotic teaching expected to capture the coming generations. Many teaching-learning management systems were discussed by him like Edmodo, Moodle, Ted, Teacher Tube, Buddy Talk, etc but Google Classroom was the most thoroughly explored of them all.  He made the teachers familiar with all the functions and facilities of Google Classroom and motivated them to incorporate it in their regular teaching methodology. How to make and publish blogs was also a genre touched by him and teachers did hands on practice on their laptops by first forming a Google classroom and then later by creating a Wordpress Blog.
In the end, Mr. Amandeep and Dr. Amandeep were felicitated with the Token of Love by Dr. Shikha Dhall who emphasized that the college always tries to equip the teachers with the latest digital knowledge so that they can be up to date with the students.
