Workshop on legal rights and responsibilities in nursing

Ludhiana: The College of Nursing, Christian Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana, Punjab organized the one day workshop on the theme “Legal rights and responsibilities in Nursing” in collaboration with Trained Nurses Association of India (TNAI) Punjab State Level on 11th February, 2020.
 
In inaugural session, Dr. Reena Jairus- Professor & Principal, College of Nursing, CMC & Hospital, Ludhiana welcomed the dignitaries. Dr. (Mrs.) Lalita Kumari – President, TNAI (Punjab State)/ Principal, S.G.L. College of Nursing, Jalandhar was the chief guest of the occasion. She expressed her views and said that knowledge of legal responsibilities among nurses is the need of the hour. Mrs. Balqis Victor-Organizing Secretary/ Associate Professor, College of Nursing, CMC & Hospital, Ludhiana has unfolded the theme and proposed the vote of thanks.
 
Different sessions on the subthemes were conducted by eminent speakers. Subthemes for the workshop were : Legal Responsibilities of Psychiatric Nurses, Forensic Nursing, Nurses Accoutabilities, Nurses and the Law & Safeguarding the Nurses. Dr. Reena Jairus- Professor & Principal, College of Nursing, CMC & Hospital, Ludhiana, Dr. (Mrs.) Triza Jiwan-Professor & Principal, College of Nursing, DMC & Hospital, Ludhiana, Prof. (Mrs.) Seema Barnabas & Mrs. Prem Lata Prakash-Associate Professor, College of Nursing, CMC & Hospital, Ludhiana and Ms. Jaspreet Sodhi- Lecturer, Govt. Nursing College, Rajindra Hospital, Patiala were the resource persons for the scientific sessions.

Around 100 participants from all over the Punjab attended the workshop. Certificates were distributed to the participants and workshop was well appreciated by the delegates.
