Ludhiana, March 25, 2025: The department of computer Applications of Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management and Technology (GGNIMT) Ghumar Mandi Ludhiana organised a workshop on the topic ‘Shell Scripting and Cybersecurity’. 

Prof. Satinderjit Singh, head, department of computer applications welcomed the guests and cited the relevance of the workshop for bca and mca students. The resource persons of the workshop Ansh Aneja and Ashish Jalota from Ansh infotech Ludhiana highlighted the importance of cybersecurity security in today’s era. He started the session with the basic introduction to shell and meaning of scripting. Through the workshop they demonstrated how shell scripts can be used to gather personal information, data and breach privacy of  social media accounts and user’s devices like cell phones, laptops etc.
 
Dr Harpreet Singh Principal,GGNIMT said this workshop that aimed to equip participants with practical knowledge and hands-on experience in using shell scripting for cybersecurity tasks is the need of an hour in today’s environment of cyber frauds. This will not only make students aware of such threats but will also equip them to find solutions to such issues.

Prof Manjit Singh Chhabra, Director, GGNIMT appreciated the efforts of the department for organising the workshop.  He said “this workshop on shell scripting and cybersecurity will not only provide essential skills to the students but will also highlight the critical need for ongoing education in this ever-evolving field.”
