Chandigarh, February 12, 2024: The Department of Music, Panjab University, Chandigarh organised one day workshop on “Techniques and Principles of Improvising Alaap and Taan in Raag” on Monday.
The workshop was conducted by India’s leading vocalist, Professor (Dr.) Ojesh Pratap Singh, Faculty of Music and Fine Arts, Delhi, Dr. Kulwinder Kaur, an eminent Sitarist and Assistant Professor, S.D. College, Sector 32, Chandigarh and Soumen Bhattacharjee, an “A” Grade Sitarist of All India Radio and Doordarshan. Professor Neelam Paul in her thanks note said that it was a great honour for the students of department of Music to get skill based knowledge from eminent resource persons. The lecture and demonstration delivered by the resource persons will add great values to the skills of students.
The students, Research Scholars as well as faculty members applauded a lot for the efficient delivery of lecture-cum-demonstration and acquired various technical and professional skills.
