Chandigarh, March 20, 2025: The Two-Day Workshop on "Transforming Tomorrow: Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Agriculture & Health" commenced at CIL, Panjab University, here today. The prestigious workshop is being organised by PU-IIT Ropar Regional Accelerator for Holistic Innovations Foundation (PI-RAHI) with the support of the Department of Science & Technology & Renewable Energy.
The inauguration saw the presence of distinguished dignitaries, including chief guest Prof. Yojna Rawat, Director, Research and Development Cell, Panjab University; Prof. Deepak Khemani, Professor, Plaksha University; Prof. Naveen Aggarwal, In charge PU/IC and DIC; Prof. Rajat Sandhir, Director, PI-RAHI, Prof. Dept. of Biochemistry; and Ms. Neha Arora, COO, PI-RAHI. The inaugural ceremony emphasised the transformative role of AI in agriculture, healthcare, and entrepreneurship, setting the stage for insightful discussions.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Prof. Yojna Rawat highlighted the growing importance of integrating Artificial Intelligence across all spheres of knowledge, including agriculture & health. She encouraged participants to explore AI’s potential in ways that benefit communities at large, while remaining mindful of cultural and social values.
Different sessions during Day One featured a keynote address by Prof. Deepak Khemani on AI fundamentals, followed by Sr. Principal Scientist, CSIR-CSIO, Dr. Aparna Akula on AI-driven thermal imaging, and Head of Strategy, Anvarat Foundation, Manas Mohan on AI for Entrepreneurship. Additionally, Founder & Director, CodroidHub, Mr. Devashish Kumar spoke for budding entrepreneurs, and CEO & Founder, ThunderFlow AI, Mr. Shiva Matoo presented insights into Multi-AI Agent Systems.
The workshop brought together 71 students from undergraduate, postgraduate, and research scholars across the Tricity, fostering knowledge exchange and networking. The event will conclude on March 21, 2025, featuring expert panels and interactive discussions.
