Workshop on weaving organised in Home Science College
On the fifth day of ongoing TexStyle Week Celebrations, an informative workshop on weaving was held on Saturday. The resource person for the workshop was Jaswinder Pal Singh, a distinguished Weaving Instructor from NIIFT Mohali.

During the session, students engaged in hands-on learning of essential weaving techniques, including the warping, shedding, picking, and taking off. The workshop aimed to enhance their skills and prepare them for proficiency in weaving at the industrial level. Furthermore, the interactive session provided valuable insights into the intricacies of weaving, aligning with the ultimate goal of equipping students with practical expertise for their future careers. In the concluding session, students enthusiastically made their samples using various weaves on the loom.
Principal of the college, Prof. Sudha Katyal appreciated the efforts of staff and students in organising the workshop. She further emphasised that through such workshops students will learn skills which will make them self reliant and financially empowered later in their life. Consequently, they will become job providers rather than job seekers.
