Chandigarh, October 9, 2019: The Criminal Justice practicum Cell of University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS), Panjab University, Chandigarh, successfully organized a workshop on Mobile Phone Vulnerability in collaboration with Central Detective Training Institution (CDTI), Chandigarh.
This workshop was organized under the mentorship of Prof.(Dr.) Rattan Singh, Director, UILS and Dr Anju Choudary, Assistant Professor (Law) - Coordinator Criminal Justice practicum cell, which was aimed at creating awareness among the students regarding the vulnerabilities faced by everyday electronics and cyber solutions available for the same. Students were made aware about internet safety and the prevalent cyber-crimes by Gurcharan Singh, Faculty Cyber Crime, CDTI. They were apprised with the various security measures available to prevent these vulnerabilities and their pros and cons thus providing a comprehensive analysis of the same. The students were also briefed upon the legal aspects of cyber crime and given tips on how to avoid falling into traps set by such criminals.
