World Art Day - Administration organises `Hunar’ to promote Art among youth, receive overwhelming response
3500 students participated, 500 shortlisted by jury of experts
Ludhiana, April 15, 2023: The district administration on Saturday organized 'Hunar' competition on the eve of World Art Day which received an overwhelming response with 3500 entries submitted by the students of government and private schools.
Checking the artwork of the students in Bachat Bhawan, Deputy Commissioner Surabhi Malik expressed surprise at the exceptional talent of the students and more than 3500 entries showing remarkable artistic talent were received by administration.
She said that it was a difficult time for the jury to select the best work as all students have done brilliant creativity but after the initial round of elimination, 500 entries have been shortlisted of which 50 will be awarded and displayed in the district administrative complex.
Malik said that the students had used their imagination, creative skills and submitted drawings, paintings or models related to various subjects, social messages or other issues.
The DC also thanked Assistant Commissioner (UT) Aparna MB, a young IAS officer for coining the idea of the 'Hunar' program.
