World Cancer Day observed
DMCH, College of Nursing, Malakpur, Ludhiana celebrated the World Cancer Day today
Ludhiana, February 4, 2022: DMCH, College of Nursing, Malakpur, Ludhiana celebrated the World Cancer Day today by virtual platform. Webinar was organized by Medical Surgical Nursing Department under the able guidance of Dr.Triza Jiwan, Principal, CON and Professor Nidhi Sagar, Vice Principal. Welcome address was given by Sunita Rani, Assistant Professor.
The programme was inaugurated. Dr.Triza Jiwan Principal, DMCH, CON said in her key note address that nurses play a pivotal role in prevention of cancer by creating awareness about cancer and tele nursing approach for symptoms management. She also added that by implementing resource appropriate strategies on prevention, early detection and treatment we can save millions of lives every year.
Prem Kumar Gupta, Secretary DMCH Managing Society said that, DMC Cancer Care Centre provide best cancer care facilities under one roof. DMCH is always committed to provide the best medical care facilities with latest technology to the cancer patients as well as to the general public. Medical Superintendent Dr. Ashwani K Chaudhary was also joined the webinar.
Prof. Bindu K unfolded the theme of this year as ‘Close the Care Gap. Ranjeet Kaur, Palliative care nurse told about the palliative care facilities that are available in DMCH. Various cancers related cases were discussed by Anoopjit, Assist. Professor and Sonika. Jyoti explained the topic on Pain management in Cancer. Ayushi Sama student of M.Sc. (N) 1st yr explained about Stem Cell Transplantation. Specialty of the webinar was Visual moments of “Great Moments” in which B.Sc. (N) 3rd yr students approached the cancer patients and spend quality time with them under the guidance of Sunil Singh, Assist. Professor, CON. The event was well attended by more than 100 students and faculty. It was very informative session.
