World Entrepreneurs' Day celebrated at Panjab University
The Institute Innovation Council (IIC), in collaboration with the Centre for Social Work and University Institute of Fashion Technology and Vocational Development, organized a highly informative and engaging online seminar on “My Journey from an Educationist to an Entrepreneur”on August 21, 2024. More than 60 participants including Students , Research scholars, Faculty Panjab University and audience from NCR region joined the session.
Chandigarh, August 22, 2024: The Institute Innovation Council (IIC), in collaboration with the Centre for Social Work and University Institute of Fashion Technology and Vocational Development, organized a highly informative and engaging online seminar on “My Journey from an Educationist to an Entrepreneur”on August 21, 2024. More than 60 participants including Students , Research scholars, Faculty Panjab University and audience from NCR region joined the session.
The seminar was spearheaded by Dr. Anu H. Gupta, Member IIC and Faculty UIFT & VD, Monica Munjal, Member IIC &Chairperson, Centre for Social Work and Dr.Prabhdip Brar, Chairperson UIFT & VD.
The speaker for the seminar Ms Sumeet Singh, Founder of LE Present’, Noida shared valuable insights and knowledge on Packaging, enlightening participants on the latest trends and techniques and the key requirements to be a successful entrepreneur. Ms Sumeet Singh shared her inspiring entrepreneurial journey, starting her venture in a small room at home after undergoing 15-day training in trousseau and gift packing. She initially worked on her venture part-time while still holding a job, but as the business grew, she quit her job to focus on the venture full-time. Today, her company operates from a 2000 sq. feet space, showcasing her dedication and hard work. She explained various facets of her journey as an entrepreneur. Catering to clients for packaging varying from Rs 100 to Rs 1000/-, she elaborated how her company works with the clients and the kind of detailed work they do to fulfil the requirements of the customers. The speaker talked about the importance of hard work, integrity and passion that is essential for any business. Concept of design, manufacturing, marketing etc . were discussed at length. She also discussed various challenges that she faced as an entrepreneur and how she worked hard to overcome these challenges. The seminar was a huge success, with students gaining valuable knowledge and skills that are required to be an entrepreneur.
