World Environment Day observed in Rail Coach Factory Kapurthala
Many programs dedicated to environmental conservation were carried out by Quality, Civil and Electrical Departments of RCF.
Kapurthala, June 5, 2022: World Environment Day was today observed in Rail Coach Factory Kapurthala. On this occasion, many programs dedicated to environmental conservation were carried out by Quality, Civil and Electrical Departments of RCF. The theme of the year is "Only One Earth".
At the beginning of World Environment Day, RCF General Manager Ashesh Agrawal flagged off an Environment rally to create awareness about environmental conservation. This rally was organised by y RCF Scouts and Guides and focussed on display of banners, pamphlets and placards on environmental conservation. The rally started from RCF's shopping center and ended at Gurdwara Chowk near Gate No. 3 in RCF. The rally included General Manager, all the top officials besides the officers, employees of all departments and their Families and children participating with great enthusiasm. A street play on environmental pollutants was played by RCF Cultural Society dedicated to environmental awareness at Gate No. 3 which was highly appreciated by the audience present.
On this occasion, Agarwal, General Manager, RCF inaugurated the Fitness Trail No. 2 built alongside the outer boundary wall of RCF from Gate No. 3 to Gate No. 2. All RCF residents can take a long walk on this fitness trail. A tree plantation drive was also organized by the Civil Department of RCF in which Mr. Agarwal and all the officers planted 50 neem saplings along fitness trail.
To stop the use of polythene and plastic, a stall was set up by the quality department of RCF for the sale of bags made of cotton in the shopping complex. In view of the huge enthusiasm of the residents of RCF Colony, this stall will be kept open in the shopping center for next three days. People were sensitised by Electrical Department on environment conservation by distribution of pamphlets and banners to adopt power sources generated from solar energy.
On this occasion, Ashesh Agarwal, General Manager, RCF said that we all have to make a collective effort to save the environment. He said that RCF is fully conscious of its responsibility towards the world environment and is fully committed towards its conservation. He advised to strictly follow the instructions for segregating the waste from the very beginning and putting it in the garbage bins separately for further disposal for recycling.
