Ludhiana, June 25, 2022: To observe World Incontinence Week Aykai Hospital, Ludhiana organised a free checkup and awareness camp today for the patients suffering from urinary continence.

Chief Urologist & Transplant Surgeon Dr.Baldev Singh Aulakh Chairman Aykai Hospital told World Continence Week is observed in the last week of June each year. It is an annual initiative with the primary aim to raise awareness about incontinence related issues it. Urinary Incontinence is the unwanted and involuntary leakage of urine. Incontinence is a sensitive condition that affects an estimated 400 million people across the world. 1 in every 5 female and1 in every 10 males suffers from urinary incontinence. Increasing age, recurrent infections, certain drugs intake, repeated child birth are the leading causes of urinary incontinence.

Dr Aulakh said certain DO’s & DON’T’s can be followed that can prevent incontinence. He addressed the gathering and told that number of medicines are available to treat this, otherwise surgical options are excellent cure. Good news is, it is treatable. So do not suffer in silence and get emotionally deprived.
