WORLD MALARIA DAY: SCHOOL STUDENTS EDUCATED ABOUT WAYS TO SAVE THEMSELVES FROM MALARIA
Ludhiana, April 25, 2019: On the directions of Civil Surgeon Ludhiana Dr. Parvinder Pal Singh Sidhu, World Malaria Day on theme "Zero Malaria Starts With Me" was celebrated under the leadership of District Epidemiologist Dr.Ramesh Kumar. The school students in all blocks of district Ludhiana were educated about ways through which they can save themselves from Malaria disease. A drawing competition was also organized on the occasion. Civil Surgeon Dr Parvinder Pal Singh Sidhu also distributed prizes to the school students. Team of Mrs Kamaljit Kaur, Principal, Shaheed-E-Azam Sukhdev Thapar Government Senior Secondary School and Dr Vipal Malhotra from Municipal Corporation Ludhiana also supported for organizing this function. Senior Health Department official Dr Manjit Singh, Civil Surgeon Office Ludhiana, District Epidemiologist and medical officers from Koom Kalan block also organized a function in which fish were released in the village pond at Ladhowal. Seminars were also organized in different schools of the district, besides pamphlets and posters were also pasted. Malaria awareness camps were also organized in different private hospitals. Camps were also organized by Malaria Technical Branch of Civil Surgeon Office, Ludhiana.
