Dr.Jagjot in his poster emphasised on acceptance of mental illness just like any other illness. The ways in which family member can help patient suffering from schizophrenia was stressed by Dr.Neha. Another poster which was highly appreciated was ‘ Loving a patient with Schizophrenia’ which was made by Dr. Divya Chopra.
Ludhiana, October 10, 2014: The World Mental Health Day is celebrated every year on 10th October. WHO, this year declared the theme for the Mental Health Day as “Living with Schizophrenia”.
Department of Psychiatry headed by Dr Ranjive Mahajan organised a programme regarding ‘Living with Schizophrenia’ which was held in Psychiatry OPD. Principal Dr Daljit Singh and Vice Principal Dr Sandeep Puri were invited to view the posters made by the students .
Talks were organised and posters were made regarding same. Dr.Jagjot in his poster emphasised on acceptance of mental illness just like any other illness. The ways in which family member can help patient suffering from schizophrenia was stressed by Dr.Neha. Another poster which was highly appreciated was ‘ Loving a patient with Schizophrenia’ which was made by Dr. Divya Chopra. Emphasis was especially given on breaking the stigma and role of family support in treatment of schizophrenia. Overall the programme was a huge success.
