WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY CELEBRATED BY DISTRICT LEGAL SERVICES AUTHORITY TODAY

FUNCTION ORGANISED AT GOVT SR. SEC. SCHOOL (BOYS), JAWAHAR NAGAR, LUDHIANA

Ludhiana, May 31, 2019: A seminar on the occasion of World No Tobacco Day was organised by District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Ludhiana at Government Senior Secondary School (Boys), Jawahar Nagar, here today. During this function, the students were made aware about the ill effects of tobacco.

Panel Advocate Miss Veena Bharadwaj and Para Legal Volunteer Mr Balwinder Singh have been nominated by the DLSA to educate the students about ill effects of tobacco. Both of them spoke in detail about the ill effects of tobacco and also briefed them the reason behind celebrating World No Tobacco Day on May 31 every year.

The DLSA officials educated the students that if any person uses tobacco in any form, then it is certain that he/she would fall prey to its ill effects, that can even lead to death. The students were also told about the diseases one might fall prey to with the use of tobacco. They also told the school principal that if any person is selling tobacco or its products within 100 yards from the school premises, then legal action can be taken against such persons.
