World Poetry Day – 21st March

World Poetry Day must be acknowledged with an aim of supporting linguistic diversity through poetic expression and increasing the opportunity for endangered languages. Infact this day needs to be projected within the society, as it signifies one of humanity’s most treasured forms of cultural and linguistic expression and identity, to capture the creative spirit of the human mind, thus proving to be a powerful catalyst for dialogue towards linguistic diversity through poetic expression and offer endangered languages the opportunity to be heard within different communities. Rather this day the eminent Poet’s promoting the regional languages, revive oral traditions of poetry recitals in reading, writing and teaching of poetry, foster the convergence between poetry and other arts such as theatre, dance, music to inspire readers with mastery of language as intertwined with ideas and emotions must be given recognition for their respective contribution.
