Yoga Session organised in association with Art of Living Foundation
In conjunction with the Art of Living Foundation, DMC&H hosted a session on yoga as part of International Yoga Day. The programme was created for MBBS students and faculty in order to impart yoga techniques that support stress-relieving activities and meditation as well as to highlight the value of mental wellness through yoga.
Ludhiana, June 24, 2023: In conjunction with the Art of Living Foundation, DMC&H hosted a session on yoga as part of International Yoga Day. The programme was created for MBBS students and faculty in order to impart yoga techniques that support stress-relieving activities and meditation as well as to highlight the value of mental wellness through yoga.
Amitesh Marwah, State Youth Coordinator, Art of Living foundation, coordinated the session for the students and faculty present, which included a meditation session, a pranayama session, as well as an interactive game session in which students enthusiastically participated. Additionally, they were taught the value of maintaining one's mental health, particularly for the younger generation.
Dr Sandeep Puri, Principal DMC&H lauded the students for putting their focus on yoga for mental health. According to him, yoga can be a great technique to deal with and manage stress in today's environment where it seems impossible to avoid it, especially for young people.
Dr Sandeep Kaushal, Dean Academics said that most of the time yoga is only looked at as a form of exercise but the equally important aspect of it is meditation and pranayama. It helps in improving mental health.
The students & faculty enthusiastically participated in the session.
