Yogesh Tripathi’s play enthralls audience on the 3rd day of Mohan Rakesh Natya Samaroh
New Delhi, November 13, 2019: The on-going annual theatre festival Mohan Rakesh Natya Samaroh organized by Sahitya Kala Parishad the art and culture wing of Delhi Govt. is being well received by the audience. The 4-day festival started on 11th November until 14th November is a homage to the theatre legend Mohan Rakesh. The festival commenced with a book launch of Natya Tarang at Kamani Auditorium, Mandi House. On day one, Mohan Rakesh Award-winning play Krita was presented. The play written by Dr Sanjeev Kumar and directed by Sanjay Upadhayay is about a cruel practice Devadasis followed in the shadow of religion. On the second day, Ravikant Mishra’s Anth Se Aarambh was showcased. Directed by Abhilash Pillai, the play is about the destruction happening in the name of development. Chauthi Cigarette is a play which exposes society’s pseudo-fourth cigarette. The play directed by Dr Danish Iqbal has two main characters who become helpless nymphs in the era of capitalism and marketing. Vireshwar and Samarendu are cursed to withstand the tragedy of economic misery. One is an established writer of socialist thinking and the other one is an established industrialist. One wants to come out of the money world and the other wants to get fame and honour through money. Yogesh Tripathi is a very powerful and comprehensive panorama of creativity. A sheer combination of creativity and higher education. He is a C.A., M.A. in Hindi Literature, LL.B. and does service in a public sector bank. Awarded by Indian cinema’s living legend Amitabh Bachchan, for the radio drama, 'Shatru Gandha'. Later, he received Ratna Bharti Award for 'Kagaz par likhi maut', his other plays like 'Mujhe Amrita chaiye' and 'Keshavleela Ram Rangila' were also recognized in the year 2002 and 2011 respectively. Shri Yogesh Tripathi has received many awards and honors including Mohan Rakesh Samman by Sahitya Kala Paridhad, Delhi, for writing his original Hindi theatrical work, 'Fourth Cigarette'. Sahitya Kala Parishad conducted Mohan Rakesh Natya Lekan Competition, in which top four play writers across India were selected for Mohan Rakesh Samman. During this festival, the plays written by these selected writers are being showcased. Kritha by Dr Sanjeev Kumar, Chaya-Hindol by Shri Raas Bihari Dutt, Anth se Aarambh by Shri Ravikant Mishra and Chauthi Cigarette by Shri Yogesh Tripathi are the winners.
