Ludhiana: A young dynamic fashion designer from Himachal Pradesh, based in Delhi, Nitin Bal Chauhan, debuts at the Wedding Asia exhibition at Hotel Park Plaza with an aim to tap customers in Ludhiana. Nitin’s exhibition will be held from November 20 to 22.
Nitin is one of the most exciting names on the Indian fashion stage. His work spans fashion, film & art and he has received awards and acclaim from some of the leading centres of fashion across the world. He graduated from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) ,New- Delhi and has since exhibited his work at leading fashion platforms across the globe including the London Fashion Week, Tokyo Fashion Week, Tranoi Fair Paris and the India fashion week.
The winner of “The Best Debut Designer” award 2007, at Lakme Week & top 5 finalist of the Vogue Fashion Fund 2012, he launched a line of clothing for Walt Disney in 2012& has collaborated with established brands like Cutty Sark, Monsoon (UK), Westside to name a few. His label “Nitin Bal Chauhan” was launched in 2012 &has been well received by the Indian Fashion industry for it’s edgy, Avant garde style.
The designer also owns a brand named “Bhootsavaar” which was launched in 2012. The first limited edition store was opened in HauzKhas Village in 2014.Bhootsavaar is a casual wear brand targeting the youth. Nitin has extensively worked in the craft sector and is currently the co-founder of Himalayan People, a company which creates, curates hand woven and knitted Woollen garments and Accessories, speciality Teas, Organic Bath care and Food products from the Himalayan region and markets it in India and Europe. His debut film “Lost or Found” was nominated for best cinematography at the Asian Festival of First Films in Singapore in 2006.
