Young Photographers Shine at IKSHANA – A Celebration of Art, Culture, and Photography "IKSHANA 2025 Inaugurated: A Visual Tribute to Art, Culture, and Young Talent"
The Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi and the World University of Design (WUD) successfully hosted IKSHANA – An Exceptional Exhibition of Pictorials at Sobha Singh Art Gallery, Punjab Kala Bhawan, from March 26 to 31. The exhibition showcased forty captivating photographs by eighteen emerging talents from WUD, India’s first university dedicated to creative education.

Chandigarh, March 25, 2025: The Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi and the World University of Design (WUD) successfully hosted IKSHANA – An Exceptional Exhibition of Pictorials at Sobha Singh Art Gallery, Punjab Kala Bhawan, from March 26 to 31. The exhibition showcased forty captivating photographs by eighteen emerging talents from WUD, India’s first university dedicated to creative education.
Inaugurated on March 25th, 2025, the event honored Punjab’s artistic luminaries, M.S. Randhawa and Surjit Patar. The ceremony featured Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Vice Chancellor, WUD, as Chief Guest, alongside esteemed Guests of Honor, Mr. Bhupinder Brar, Professor Emeritus, Punjab University, and Ms. Saloni Bansal, Pro Chancellor, RIMT University.
IKSHANA emphasized the art of observation, revealing the students’ distinctive perspectives and creative consciousness. Their work blended technical expertise with contemporary storytelling, offering fresh visual narratives that redefined reality with authenticity and innovation.
Dr. Sanjay Gupta remarked, "IKSHANA is more than an exhibition; it is a testament to the perceptive power of our young photographers, who have translated their vision into compelling visual stories. At WUD, we are dedicated to fostering such creative expression and pushing artistic boundaries."
The exhibition featured diverse student photographers from various disciplines, including Fashion Design, Graphic Design, Animation, Interior Design, Visual Arts, and Architecture. Participating students included:
Subham Mohanty, Parth Jain, Shraddha Singh, T. Arjun Abhinav, Akshay Narayanan, Raavi Mittal, P. Vishwaksen, Silpa B. Prakash, Subham Baruah, Abia Falak, Aeshita Sharma, Harshita Choudhary, Karuna Kumari, Ishan Sharma, Vindhya Shukla, Kanakpriya Savi Saini, Ridhima Sharma, and Sania Farheen.
A collaborative effort between Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi and WUD, IKSHANA received an overwhelming response, providing a vital platform for young artists and reaffirming the transformative power of photography in storytelling.
