Amity Institute of Indian System of Medicine (AIISM) Amity University, Noida organized a special session on Yoga practice on the theme "Be with Yoga, Be at Home",  to encourage students, faculty members, officers, and staff for building immunity and get relief from stress. An online pledge was also undertaken by the participants to make Yoga an integral part of their life on the occasion of  International Yoga Day 

During the virtual program, Dr. Neha Jainer, Yoga Instructor, shared valuable inputs on how to do Yoga correctly amongst over 1000 students and faculty members.  

While demonstrating Yoga asanas, Dr. Neha Jainer said "practicing yoga daily not only boosts the immune system but also renders surreal joy". During these difficult times of pandemic when the entire world is struggling to fight Covid 19, yoga has proven to be an excellent tool in ensuring physical as well as mental wellness by keeping the disease at bay. Learning and practicing Yoga has become integral during these uncertain times and the entire world has understood the importance of practicing yoga, averred Dr. Jainer.   

 

Dr. W. Selvamurthy,  President, Amity Science, Technology and Innovation Foundation stated that yoga is great knowledge in Indian wisdom and has benefited humanity in a very significant manner. Yoga should be practiced every day, since Yoga not only works towards a positive body but also helps in developing concentration and building a  positive mind. Today science also believes in yoga and after researching, it is scientifically proven that yoga can cure communicable as non-communicable diseases. Yoga will promote you because it brings out all physical, mental abilities, said Dr Selvamurthy.  

 

Prof. (Dr.) B C Das, Director, Amity Institute of Molecular Medicine & Stem Cell Research said yoga should be practiced as a way of life. By practicing yoga on daily basis, one will be able to observe many changes in one’s body and you will also see yourself better in terms of happiness, said Dr. Das. It benefits in mental, physical, and spiritual well–being. More than 177 countries have accepted yoga. One can understand the importance of yoga with practice.
