Youth should pledge to take yoga to everyone in the society: VC Prof. Rajbir Singh
International Yoga Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in MDU, Rohtak and yogic activities were performed under the Common Yoga Protocol. Vice Chancellor Prof. Rajbir Singh, as the chief guest, highlighted the importance of yoga in life. He said that yoga is connected to our Vedic tradition. Today there is a need to make yoga a part of the lifestyle of people along with oneself, he added.
Rohtak, June 21, 2024: International Yoga Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in MDU, Rohtak and yogic activities were performed under the Common Yoga Protocol. Vice Chancellor Prof. Rajbir Singh, as the chief guest, highlighted the importance of yoga in life. He said that yoga is connected to our Vedic tradition. Today there is a need to make yoga a part of the lifestyle of people along with oneself, he added.
VC Prof. Rajbir Singh said that to promote yoga and to take the Vedic tradition forward, the Centre for Yogic Studies and Centre for Vedic Study have been established in MDU. He talked about taking yoga to the society through MDU's outreach activities this year. He urged the Youth to pledge to take yoga to everyone in the society.
Col.Gunpal Singh Singh(NCC) was the Guest of Honour on the occasion. VC Prof. Rajbir Singh, Registrar Prof. Gulshan Taneja, Director Sports Prof. R.P.Garg lead in observing Yoga Protocol. Yoga Instructor Naresh Ahlawat conducted the Yoga Protocol.
Director, Centre for Yogic Studies Prof. Surendra Kumar gave the welcome speech and highlighted the theme of International Yoga Day this year - Yoga for self and for society. Dean, Student Welfare Prof. Randeep Rana organized this program. Assistant Director Youth Welfare Dr. Pratap Rathi assisted in organizing and coordinating the event. The event was organized by DSW Office & Centre for Yogic Studies, supported by NSS, YRC, NCC & other stakeholders.
