Yuva Sangam delegates from NIT Hamirpur meet Governor of Telangana
The delegates of Yuva Sangam Phase V, representing the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh, and MANUU Hyderabad, Telangana, had the privilege of visiting Raj Bhavan in Hyderabad and interacting with the Governor of Telangana, Jishnu Dev Varma on Thursday.
Hyderabad, January 2, 2025: The delegates of Yuva Sangam Phase V, representing the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh, and MANUU Hyderabad, Telangana, had the privilege of visiting Raj Bhavan in Hyderabad and interacting with the Governor of Telangana, Jishnu Dev Varma on Thursday.
The visit, part of the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ initiative by the Ministry of Education, was a platform to celebrate India’s unity in diversity and promote cultural exchange.
During the interaction, the Governor highlighted the significance of youth empowerment and fostering harmony across regions. Delegates from NIT Hamirpur shared insights into the heritage of Himachal Pradesh, while their counterparts from Telangana showcased the vibrant traditions of their state. Shri Jishnu Dev Varma ji inspirational address encouraged the participants to embrace diversity and work towards collective progress, followed by an engaging session where leadership, innovation, and mutual respect were discussed.
The visit left a lasting impact on the participants, motivating them to further the spirit of collaboration and cultural unity envisioned by Yuva Sangam. Dr. Param Singh, Nodal Officer, Yuva Sangam Phase V, NIT Hamirpur expressed their gratitude to the Governor for his hospitality and guidance, reaffirming their commitment to national integration and inclusive development.
Helmed by the Ministry of Education, the Yuva Sangam programme facilitates exposure to students and young professionals across the country in five broad areas - the 5Ps viz; Paryatan (Tourism), Parampara (Traditions), Pragati (Development), Paraspar Sampark (People-to-people connect), and Prodyogiki (Technology).
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had proposed the idea for a sustained people-to-people connect during the Rashtriya Ekta Divas held on 31st October, 2015 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Subsequently, Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) programme was launched on 31st October, 2016. The Ministry of Education envisioned Yuva Sangam in alignment with the spirit of EBSB.
The previous phases of Yuva Sangam have witnessed massive enthusiasm with registrations crossing 44,000 in the last Phase. Till now, 4,795 youth across India have participated in 114 tours in various phases of Yuva Sangam (including the pilot phase in 2022).
