Yuva Sangam kicks off at IIM Mumbai

Yuva Sangam the cultural exchange program under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat campaign by the PMO, commenced its 5th phase today. At the farewell event that was held at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Mumbai, students who were a part of this exchange program were bid adieu with a lot of zest and fanfare. This initiative, spearheaded by the Prime Minister’s Office, aims to celebrate India’s cultural diversity and foster national integration.

Mumbai, November 26, 2024: Yuva Sangam the cultural exchange program under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat campaign by the PMO, commenced its 5th phase today. At the farewell event that was held at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Mumbai, students who were a part of this exchange program were bid adieu with a lot of zest and fanfare. This initiative, spearheaded by the Prime Minister’s Office, aims to celebrate India’s cultural diversity and foster national integration.

Addressing the students and officials on the occasion, Prof. Manoj Tiwari, Director, IIM Mumbai said, “Students are our future. And for our future to be strong and united its important for them to understand our country and its culture better. India is a very diverse country with lot of cultural nuances. For a country to stay strong and united its important for us a nation to understand these nuances and be tolerant towards each other. Programs like Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat will help build bridges between different states and bring the country closer.”

On the occasion Prof. Pallavi Yogesh Jambale, from K.J. Somaiya College of Dharma Studies also gave a talk on Culture of Maharashtra to the students attending the farewell ceremony.

Hosted by IIM Mumbai, the program will run until 6th December and will feature vibrant cultural exchanges between students representing Maharashtra and Odisha. IIM Mumbai and IIT Bhubaneswar are collaborating to bring this initiative to life, with Maharashtra welcoming a delegation of students from Odisha for a week of meaningful interactions and experiences.

The program offers a unique opportunity for participants to immerse themselves in Maharashtra’s rich cultural heritage, from its iconic landmarks to its vibrant traditions and authentic cuisine. The week-long itinerary includes cultural workshops, learning sessions, and visits to Mumbai’s historic and modern landmarks.

This cultural exchange is designed to deepen mutual respect and understanding while strengthening the bonds between the people of Maharashtra and Odisha. By fostering an appreciation for India’s incredible diversity, Yuva Sangam reflects the larger vision of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat: building unity through cultural awareness.
