Zenit extend lead in Russian league with home win

Moscow, April 27 (IANS) Zenit St. Petersburg moved four points clear of Lokomotiv Moscow at the top of the Russian Premier League table after a 2-0 home win against Volga.

A first-half goal from Axel Witsel gave Zenit the lead before a 78th-minute strike from midfielder Viktor Fayzulin put the Round 27 result Saturday beyond any doubt, reports Xinhua.

Three rounds of the 2013-14 Russian Premier League remain after the completion of the weekend's matches.
